He's kicking me!
I definitely felt the baby kick me today! I thought I felt him kick yesterday, but I wasn't quite sure. I was pumping gas this morning and had my hand on my stomach. I then felt him kick really hard. I actually felt it on my hand, and not just flutter on the inside. He kicked me several times while I was standing there. It wasn't very strong, but I definitely felt it! This is so amazing!!

21 Weeks

Matt and I also went and visited a childcare center on Monday. We are planning on sending our little man to daycare in January 2011, which means he will be about 3 months old. I am a bit apprehensive about sending him to daycare in the first place, and I just can't send him to daycare when he is only 6 weeks. I know many parents do this, but I just can't picture my 6 week old baby going to daycare for 8 hours a day. I was a bit nervous about sending him to a daycare in the first place, but this childcare center seems wonderful and the staff was extremely competent and helpful! The center is the perfect distance from home and work, and they are rated by the Tennessee government as a 3 star facility! This is the highest rating a center can receive! We will probably look at a few more daycares, but this one is definitely on the top of our list.
Matt and I have begun purchasing baby items and planning the baby's room. I found a practically new Graco SnugRide infant car seat and base on craigslist! I am hoping to also get a convertible car seat that the little one can fit in for about 2 years. We can also use this car seat as a second one for Matt's car. I have begun registering at Target, and I will soon register at Babies-R-Us. I know it may be a bit early to registered, but I just can't help myself :) Matt and I are going this weekend to choose paint for the baby's room. My mom has agreed to make the crib bumper, so we don't have to purchase a lot of extra items we don't need. I am so excited...it is going to be so cute!

Daycare :(
I feel like I am finally gaining back some of my energy. I have bought a pregnancy yoga DVD so I can stretch and exercise a bit more. I am beginning to get cramps in my legs, so I thought this would help. The DVD is a bit corny, but it seems to be really helping!
Supposedly, the baby can now hear us. I have caught myself talking to the baby of my drive home from work in the afternoon. I feel kind-of stupid, and I know people would think I was insane if they heard me. However, I kind-of feel connected to him in a weird way when I talk to him. Matt put his face on my belly last night to say goodnight to the baby. I know he meant it jokingly, but it was kind-of sweet and weird at the same time!
Matt and I have a few appointments set up this week to visit childcare facilities in our area. I would love to stay home with my little one, but it just isn't going to be an option right now. I am still looking for someone to take care of him for the first two weeks in December until Matt gets out for Christmas vacation. We would like to wait until our little boy is about 3 months to put him in daycare. This means he would start in January of next year. If anyone would like to help take care of our little boy the first 2 weeks of December, let me know!
Craving of the week: green beans (I can finally eat veggies again!)

It's a Boy!!!!!!
I went for my 20 week ultrasound yesterday. The ultrasound technician was wonderful! The doctor said that our baby looks great and is growing well! My due date is still set for October 7, 2010. We also found out that we are having a little boy! He was spread eagle for the ultrasound. He was also a little hyper, which is probably my fault. I drank a small glass of V8 fusion before the ultrasound so he would be active and we could find out if our little jumping bean was a he or a she. He is definitely a he. We are so excited, and I can't wait to start registering and shopping for baby boy items!

Almost half way!
I am now 19 weeks! I know for those of you who have been pregnant this doesn't seem like much, but I am so glad to be (almost) half way through my pregnancy. Overall, pregnancy has not been that bad. I know many pregnant friends who have told me to just wait til the end...but compared to others, I have had it good! I still feel huge. Matt has been out of town for several days, and even he agreed that my belly had grown in the few days he was gone. He now has to arch his back to hug me because my belly gets in the way. I bought myself an "almost" mother's day gift this weekend. A pregnancy body pillow. That thing is amazing! I haven't slept this good is months! For those of you who have one, I know you would agree that they are wonderful! I have also found that my dog also loves the pillow. There have been a few times in the past few days when I have gotten up in the middle of the night, just to find my dog in my spot when I return to my bed!
We have been getting things ready for the baby's room. Several people have also begun giving us things for the baby, such as small "Tennessee" shoes (a must for any Tennessee fan!), toys, and baby necessities. Thank you so much to everyone who has given us items for the baby!
Matt and I go for my 20 week appointment on Monday, May 17th. Hopefully the baby will be in the right position so we can see if it is a boy or a girl!
Craving of the week: pasta with cheese and anything salty

BAM!
I am scheduled to go for an ultrasound in about a week and a half. We are so excited to hopefully find out the sex of the baby. This past week has been fairly uneventful. The baby is moving much more, and I am starting to feel it from the outside of my belly and not just the little flutters. Of course, there are no massive kicks or punches yet from my little bean. The baby is now about the size of a sweet potato. I feel that my belly has kind-of "popped" in the last week. I was growing gradually, and then suddenly....bam!!!....my belly has busted out! I think the baby went through a little growth spurt! My craving of the moment: ALL FOOD!
